Big stuff, all these questions about why and for whom? Mister Fish, thanks for your Wisconsin insights, for sure. All the Occupy stuff, Madison as in UW stuff, the trains to nowhere (but really trains to the back pockets of the Chlamydia Capitalist$), all of that, sure, I had a handle on as a reader of national news.

You see, the prominent operating system for me to motivated by that love . . . not agape in the sense of the religious stuff. But doing things as acts of solidarity, sure, and kindness, and, well, love.

I met the man, KK, and his clan (some of it) and the journey is inside my own horror show of living and, well, my anger at the entire busted bullshit parade that is USA and Capitalism.

Wisconsin, the dairies, the duds in small towns, the oppressive bar scene, even the brokeback bars, and then just being in George Floyd land, that wonderfully rich MSP, well, I got some perspective, some ammunition to keep going without so much anger that all I become is a ball of hate.

Should KK get out of Dodge? Can he extract himself from a dysfunctional family? Will they survive, or that sweet grandchild whose life is needles and Jonesing and padding her own sets of trauma with the numb shit of coke-heroin-fentynal?

The missing photo ironically was the last one I was loading, but then, out here, on the Pacific, the Internet connection is funky, so I got locked out of my drafts and just couldn't load it. I'll do the two readers of my blog a fav and loaded it now. KK is fine with the minor publicity, so here goes?

Did Mister Fish like the poems? The Flophouse shit at the end? Too much far afield?

Note to readers: I sent the KK and his dog some questions. Let's see if he can pound out responses with his good finger (more on the finger soon).

I think that you had three readers one time.

I saw three likes.

Or, are you padding your own stats?

I am glad to see that you made it through the looking glass, and back again.

I tried to give you a heads up, before you departed for Wisconsin.

I warned you about approaching houses, and gun play, and the rest.

Fortunately, you didn’t get shot.

So your purpose in this adventure was to meet a friend, and cement that relationship?

Quite a magnanimous gesture on your part.

You say that you benefited from the trip.

How so?

Can you elaborate on that a bit?

It appears that this Kelly fellow is indeed, a friend in need.

That’s a lot of ground that you traversed to visit some ex-con.

What’s the appeal?

Is there a shortage of broke down, ex-drunks in Oregon?

Do you think that your efforts in beerland have borne any fruit?

As I indicated, I spent some time in Wisconsin, previously.

As you can see, the place really is retrograde.

Although, there was a little bit of thinking going on in the Madison area, back in the day.

But, the days of “fighting Bob LaFollette” are long past.

Even the days of Occupy, and the massive protests against Walker’s Act 10, are but distant memories.

The fighting spirit that once existed in Wisconsin, has given way to malaise.

The Foxconn swindle barely raised an eyebrow.

The dream of mass transit, has given way to crumbling highways and byways.

High speed trains scrapped in favor of even more and more fumes belching buggies.

The state motto in Wisconsin is Forward.

Somebody needs to tell these folks that they’re In reverse.

Retrograde.

Is that something that you were attempting?

How was the message received?

Seeing as drinking, not thinking, is the national pastime up in those parts, I would assume that your message fell upon drunk, deaf ears.

And, Rome wasn’t built in 8 days, after all.

I’m not at all familiar with the Oregon territory.

But, I do know Wisconsin.

It occurs to me that your friend Kelly could benefit from a change of scenery.

He’s living in a cold, hard, nasty, mean, and brutish place.

It’s not a very inviting destination for a beat down old man, and a fat wiener dog.

(I didn’t see the photo of them that you referenced)

But, I still don’t see the appeal for you.

Yeah, this guy has had a rough go of it.

Maybe the rest of his story will fill in some blanks.

But, his tale seems pretty pedestrian to me, thus far.

Sexual abuse.

Alcoholism.

Prison.

Dead wife.

All seems like just a day in the life, in Wisconsin.

Well, the fact that he sobered up may be an outlier.

I guess that the common reaction to a dead wife might be to get drunk a lot.

So, do you think that the guy, that you traveled across north america to visit, benefited from the journey?

Was there a catharsis, for him?

For you?

What happens with this guy, now that you’re back on the shores of the pacific?

It was a wonderfully, kind gesture on your part.

I’m looking forward to reading more about your experience in Wisconsin.

I’m partial to horror stories, and comedic books, so the rest of this series should be a winner.

Seriously though, I’m glad that you made it out alive, and without criminal charges pending (right?).

If this guy really is your friend, I suggest that you spirit him away from Wisconsin, before the sickness that resides there overwhelms whatever immune system he has left.

Keep on scribbling there Haeder.

I want to hear the rest of the story.
